Boeing Books $2B Navy Contract to Update F/A-18, EA-18G Aircraft Systems

Boeing (NYSE: BA) has landed a five-year, $2.02 billion contract to update systems of the Hornet and Growler aircraft platforms for the U.S. Navy.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which includes foreign military sales, calls for the company to support configuration set requirements for the implementation of new F/A-18 and EA-18G capabilities, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

DOD noted the service branch did not hold a competitive procurement process for the services in accordance with section 6.302-1 of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation.

Eighty-six percent of contract work will take place in St. Louis and the remaining 14 percent in California.
