Bob Genter: SAIC to Expand EPA Program Support Through $81M IDIQ Spot

Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) has won a spot on a potential five-year, $81M contract for technical and outreach services to Environmental Protection Agency-led Clean Air Act compliance program.

SAIC said Wednesday it seeks to assist EPA in efforts to help public and private entities comply with the government’s air quality management law through the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

œWe are excited to apply our broad environmental expertise with engineering, scientific and economic capabilities addressing international, federal, state, and local greenhouse gas challenges, said Bob Genter, executive vice president and general manager of SAIC’s civilian markets customer group.

Genter added the IDIQ award will expand the company’s work under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.

The contract’s six functional areas are data systems, information technology, general support, analysis, communication, training, policy and program.

SAIC can compete for task orders to help EPA analyze pollution mitigation strategy, facilitate outreach activities via an online platforms or a public event and create reports.

Clean Air Act mandates the agency to develop national standards that will regulate air hazard emissions and protect public health.
