BlueHalo has received a potential 10-year, $80 million contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory to build a virtual range meant to support modeling and simulation activities involving directed energy weapons.
AFRL said Thursday it will use the virtual range to hold directed energy concept events to train joint warfighters with DEWs, address capability gaps and bring necessary platforms to operational activities.
The contractor will also develop and carry out simulated wargames in support of the Department of Defense under the contract, which underwent a technology experimentation process related to directed energy.
Arlington, Virginia-based BlueHalo is a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners and provides capabilities in space, directed energy, cyber and intelligence, C4ISR and missile defense, among other areas, in support of defense and national security customers.
