Ball Aerospace & Technologies (NYSE: BLL) and SiCore Technologies have each won a $47.9 million contract to develop risk mitigation tools and techniques for the U.S. Air Force™s weapon systems.
The goal is to identify vulnerabilities in the Air Force™s avionics and protect the systems from cyber attacks, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
The Air Force plans to integrate the tools and methodologies into its Avionics Vulnerability Assessment Mitigation and Protection cyber research platform following tests on the technologies, according to a notice posted April 2015 in the Federal Business Opportunities website.
Ball Aerospace and SiCore will perform work in Dayton, Ohio, through March 30, 2024.
