BAE Systems Inc., the British defense contractor’s U.S. subsidiary, has secured a potential $112 million contract to sustain and provide technical support for the U.S. Army‘s recovery vehicles.
The four-year contract covers services for BAE-built M88A1 and M88A2 recovery vehicles, the company said Monday.
BAE will deliver combat vehicle recovery services and products to the Army, Marine Corps and foreign military sales customers under the contract.
John Tile, director of recovery vehicles at BAE, said M88 platforms are designed to support recovery missions of the military’s heaviest vehicles.
The company will perform contract work at its facilities in San Jose, California; York, Pennsylvania; and Sterling Heights, Michigan; as well as military facilities worldwide.
The Army awarded a $109.7 million modification to BAE’s land and armaments business last year to build 36 M88A2 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System vehicles.
