The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems two contracts worth $183.8 million combined and a potential $11.5 million contract modification to maintain two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and an Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship.
BAE will provide human resources and facilities to help maintain, repair and upgrade the USS Howard (DDG 83) destroyer under the firm-fixed-price contract that has a base amount of $47.8 million and a ceiling value of $66.6 million, the Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday.
Work will occur in San Diego, California, through May 2019.
The company will support repair, modernization and maintenance work on the USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79) destroyer under a firm-fixed-price contract with a base value of $41.6 million and a ceiling of $117.2 million.
The Naval Sea Systems Command received two offers for the contract that calls for BAE to perform work in Norfolk, Virginia, through February 2019.
