Subsidiaries ofBAE Systems, General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) have received contract modifications worth a combined $120.5 million to help the U.S. Navy maintain, repair or update San Diego-homeported surface combatants.
The Defense Departmentsaid Monday the modifications exercise an option under previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts to BAE’s San Diego Ship Repair unit,HII’s Continental Maritime of San Diego subsidiary and General Dynamics’ NASSCO business.
Work also covers support for Chief of Naval Operations availabilities of cruiser and destroyer ships in San Diego.
Contractors will perform work at Naval Base San Diego or company facilities within California through March 2018, DoD noted.
The Navy’s Southwest Regional Maintenance Center is the contracting activity.
