Don Parente, a 25-year veteran of AT&T (NYSE: T), has been named a vice president at MetTel‘s federal business where he will be responsible for driving sales to the Department of Defense and through systems integrators.
In his new capacity, Parente will aim to expand MetTel’s business with defense organizations and oversee its collaboration with government-focused integration partners, the digital communications provider said Tuesday.
“Don has a proven track record of leading successful business efforts at the highest levels and will undoubtedly contribute to MetTel’s growth in these critical areas,” said Robert Dapkiewicz, the company’s senior VP and general manager for the federal practice.
Parente previously served in multiple roles of increasing responsibility across AT&T’s government and commercial businesses.
He most recently held assistant VP and GM positions at AT&T with responsibility over systems integrator customers and before that position managed global technical sales for the firm’s public sector organization.
MetTel noted its federal arm has won task orders worth $2.5 billion combined under the General Services Administration’s governmentwide Enterprise Infrastructure Services contract vehicle since 2020.
