Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) and Chemring Military Products have won positions on a potential five-year, $750 million contract to provide non-standard mortar weapons systems and ammunition for the U.S. Army.
The Army Contracting Command received four proposals for the firm-fixed-price contract and will obligate funds and assign work location upon award of each task order, the Defense Departmentsaid Monday.
Both contractors will perform work through March 27, 2021, according to DoD.
Perry, Fla.-based CMP is part of Chemring North Americas energetic systems business group that supplies ammunition, pyrotechnics, weapons systems and related platforms to the U.S. military and allied forces.
