Oshkosh Defense to Produce More JLTV Trucks, Trailers Under $592M Army Award

Oshkosh‘s (NYSE: OSK) defense subsidiary has received a $591.6 million modification under the U.S. Army’s Joint Light Tactical Vehicle acquisition contract to produce additional military trucks and trailers.

This award covers the delivery of 1,669 JLTV tucks, 868 trailers and associated kits and components to domestic and foreign military sales customers, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Slovenia, Montenegro, Brazil and Lithuania are the FMS clients on the modification.

A portion of the full obligated amount came from other procurement accounts of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps and the Air Force.

Oshkosh Defense won the original $6.75 billion JLTV contract in August 2015 to replace the Humvee for both the Army and USMC.

Defense Daily reported the Army expects to issue a final solicitation notice for the JLTV recompete effort in January 2022 and pegs the value of the follow-on contract at $6.5 billion over 10 years.
