Air Force Names L3 Prime Contractor for F-16 Pilot Training Program; Christopher Kubasik Quoted

L3 Technologies (NYSE: LLL) has secured a potential $350M contract to help the U.S. Air Force train the military service’s F-16 pilots.

The company said Tuesday it will serve as the prime contractor on the F-16 Simulators Training Program that consolidates previous weapons and tactics, trainer advanced sustainment and training system and mission training center support programs related to the fighter aircraft platform.

Christopher Kubasik, chairman, president and CEO of L3, said the award reflects the firm’s ability to provide services that support air readiness efforts.

Kubasik added the company has supported the Air Force’s F-16 weapons system operations over the past four decades.

L3 seeks to help the service branch ensure interoperability of pilot training systems with deployed aircraft configurations.
