The Air Force Research Laboratory’s information directorate has issued a broad agency announcement valued at approximately $500 million to identify potential partners that could research, develop, test and evaluate quantum information technology to support command, control, communications, computers and intelligence missions.
A notice posted Tuesday on SAM.gov states that the AFRL seeks to evaluate advanced algorithm designs and systems that use emerging quantum computing techniques and assess heterogeneous quantum entanglement distribution.
Research areas include quantum information processing, quantum algorithms and computing, memory-node-based quantum networking and heterogeneous quantum platforms.
These technologies will have in-house and contractual-based requirements to support the Quantum Information and Science branch.
AFRL intends to award individual contracts worth up to $99.9 million under the BAA.
