The U.S. Army has awarded 22 companies positions on the potential 10-year, $5.1B Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems II contract vehicle .
Army Contracting Command received 24 bids for the GTACS II contract and expects work to occur through Jan. 5, 2030, the Department of Defense said Monday .
GTACS II covers information technology services and hardware to support the development of a tactical communications network for soldiers. The vehicle also includes software and hardware engineering, program management and analysis, systems engineering and supply chain management support.
