State Department OKs Potential $1B Sale of Integrated Small UAS Defeat System to Qatar

The State Department has approved Qatar’s request to purchase a suite of systems designed to recognize and mitigate drone threats, as part of a potential $1 billion foreign military sales deal with the U.S. government.

Qatar seeks to buy 10 units of the Fixed Site-Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System and 200 Coyote Block 2 interceptors, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday.

Other items in the request include launchers, Ku-band multi-function radio frequency system radars, counter unmanned electronic warfare systems and forward area air defense command and control equipment.

Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX), Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and SRC will serve as the principal contractors on the proposed sale.

The foreign country also requests the deployment of five additional U.S. government and 15 contractor representatives for a period of five years to support fielding, sustainment and training efforts.
