The State Department has approved Qatar’s request to purchase a suite of systems designed to recognize and mitigate drone threats, as part of a potential $1 billion foreign military sales deal with the U.S. government.
Other items in the request include launchers, Ku-band multi-function radio frequency system radars, counter unmanned electronic warfare systems and forward area air defense command and control equipment.
The foreign country also requests the deployment of five additional U.S. government and 15 contractor representatives for a period of five years to support fielding, sustainment and training efforts.
