The federal government™s use of the General Services Administration™s Information Technology Schedule 70 to buy IT platforms and services is expected to increase in fiscal 2019 as agencies intend to compete their contracts through the vehicle, Bloomberg Government reported Friday.
The Defense Department plans to compete its potential 10-year, $8B Enterprise Collaboration and Productivity Services contract for cloud services, formerly Defense Enterprise Office Solutions, through IT Schedule 70, according to the report.
Other contracts that agencies intend to compete or recompete through the schedule include FBI™s 10-year, $2B Information Technology Supplies and Support Services 2; the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration™s potential 10-year, $2.5B NOAA Mission IT Services; and GSA™s potential 10-year, $2.5B USA Contact program for call center services.
BGOV estimates those four federal contracts to bring over $1.5B in annual transactions to the IT Schedule 70 vehicle.
The report noted that agencies obligated approximately $6.3B in fiscal 2017 task orders through IT Schedule 70, down from $9.1B in fiscal 2010 spending made via the procurement vehicle.
