President Donald Trump has announced the formation of the Super Intelligence Force, or SIF, to coordinate the federal government’s efforts to keep the U.S. at the forefront of super intelligence.

As the White House sets up a dedicated body to coordinate federal super intelligence efforts, civilian agencies continue to work through how to adopt and govern artificial intelligence across their missions. The Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 FedCiv Summit on Oct. 29 will bring together government and industry leaders to discuss AI adoption, data and cloud infrastructure, IT modernization, cybersecurity and workforce readiness. Save your seat now to hear from the officials shaping federal civilian technology priorities.
Trump made the announcement Sunday in a Truth Social post, stating that the SIF follows the White House accord on super intelligence.
What Is the Super Intelligence Force?
The Super Intelligence Force is a federal body that will coordinate the government’s engagement with consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure providers and super intelligence companies.
Trump said the SIF is tasked with coordinating federal efforts to “ensure that America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence, which many say is bigger than the Industrial Revolution, and the Internet.”
The SIF will be led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton; Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson; Emil Michael, under secretary of war for research and engineering, chief technology officer and a 2026 Wash100 awardee; and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor.
NBC News reported Sunday that Clayton, who previously served as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York and chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, will spearhead the group.
The group will report to the president and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
What Led to the Formation of the Super Intelligence Force?
The SIF follows a White House accord in which leaders of six technology companies committed to implementing safety controls and audits for frontier models. The signatories include executives from Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, xAI and NVIDIA.
Under the accord, the companies agreed to put in place internal monitoring controls, a dedicated internal team to verify those controls, an independent outside auditor and an independent board committee to oversee remediation.
Trump signed the accord alongside an executive order directing executive branch agencies to use “super intelligence” in place of artificial intelligence as official terminology.
