The U.S. Army has awarded CAE USA a $257.9 million firm-fixed-price contract to provide Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft pilot training.
What Are the Contract Details?
The Department of War said Thursday the cost-no-fee and time-and-materials award was solicited with one bid received. CAE will perform the work in Tampa, Florida, with an estimated completion date of March 13, 2032. The Army has obligated $20.8 million in fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance funds. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
How Has CAE Supported Army Global Aircraft Training?
CAE has previously developed training capabilities for the Army’s Bombardier Global aircraft. In October 2024, the company unveiled a CAE 7000XR full-flight simulator configured to replicate the Global 6000/6500 in support of the Army’s High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System program. The simulator had achieved Level D certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
What Other Army Flight Training Work Has CAE Secured?
The award follows other Army aviation training contracts for CAE. In March 2025, CAE Defense & Security secured a $180 million recompete contract under the Advanced Helicopter Flight Training Support program. The contract, expected to be completed by 2030, covers comprehensive flight training support for UH-60 Black Hawk instructor pilots.
CAE Defense & Security landed a potential $250 million firm-fixed-price contract in January 2023 to continue supporting fixed-wing pilot training for Army and Air Force aviators. Under the program, the company’s Dothan Training Center in Alabama was set to instruct more than 600 aviators each year through 2032, using the CAE Trax Academy’s mix of ground-based training and self-directed virtual and augmented-reality training.
