DTC Expands Tactical Communications Capabilities With Adaptive Dynamics Acquisition

  • DTC is expanding its anti-jamming and spectrum resilience capabilities through the acquisition of Adaptive Dynamics
  • Adaptive Dynamics brings radio frequency and interference mitigation technologies for contested electromagnetic environments
  • The acquisition supports DTC’s push to strengthen secure communications across land, maritime and airborne operations

DTC, a Codan company specializing in advanced tactical communications systems, has acquired Adaptive Dynamics, a provider of anti-jamming and interference mitigation technologies for mission-critical communications and assured positioning, navigation and timing capabilities.

What Capabilities Does Adaptive Dynamics Bring?

Adaptive Dynamics develops algorithms and radio frequency technologies aimed at sustaining communications performance in congested and contested electromagnetic conditions, DTC said Friday. It brings intentional and unintentional interference cancellation, adaptive filtering and signal enhancement technologies supporting defense and national security applications.

Paul Sangster, president and executive general manager at DTC, said Adaptive Dynamics’ expertise in interference mitigation and signal processing strengthens the company’s ability to deliver communications systems capable of operating under challenging conditions.

“This capability is increasingly critical as spectrum environments become more contested and complex across our markets, reflecting real-world operational demands and evolving battlefield requirements,” Sangster added.

How Does This Acquisition Impact DTC’s Market Strategy?

DTC said the acquisition will help strengthen its Spectrum Overmatch capabilities, supporting its broader strategy to deliver more resilient and dependable communications capabilities for operations in land, sea and air in contested electromagnetic environments. The integration of Adaptive Dynamics’ technologies aims to expand DTC’s portfolio with enhanced spectral efficiency and mission assurance capabilities for defense and security customers.

The acquisition continues DTC’s broader push to expand resilient communications and contested-spectrum capabilities through partnerships, research collaborations and targeted technology investments. In recent months, the company announced a maritime communications partnership with Trident Research and entered into a collaborative research agreement with Idaho National Laboratory focused on secure communications and dynamic spectrum technologies.
