HTL Appoints Chad Kettering as President, CEO

Herrick Technology Laboratories has appointed Chad Kettering as president and CEO. Kettering succeeds Acie Vickers, who has assumed responsibilities as board of directors chairman, the signals intelligence and electronic warfare company said Wednesday. 

“It is an honor and a privilege to be named CEO of HTL, especially at this exciting time as we roll out a number of new innovative products for our customers in national security,” Kettering stated. “Acie has built a world-class, cutting-edge provider of SIGINT and EW products to the Department of War, the intelligence community and our allies across the globe, and I look forward to leading our team forward in developing and delivering even greater capabilities.”

Who Is Chad Kettering?

Kettering has been with HTL since 2013. Before he was appointed as CEO, he served as the company’s vice president of engineering for over four years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Before HTL, he worked at Boeing subsidiary Digital Receiver Technology for over 8 years as a senior mechanical engineer. 

Kettering holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University. 

What Is HTL?

HTL is a defense technology company headquartered in Germantown, Maryland. The firm develops high-performance software-defined radio, SIGINT, EW, and communication systems for the Department of War. 

HTL’s SDR technology includes multi-channel radio frequency and microwave transceiver capabilities optimized for size, weight, power and cost efficiency. 

The company recently secured a contract from the U.S. Army to prototype the Electromagnetic Warfare Rapid Integration System, or ERIS. The U.S. Air Force also awarded HTL a $40.7 million contract in 2019 to prototype and test SDR transceiver components for the Spectrum-Agile, Location-Aware, Enhanced Electromagnetic Kit program, supporting reprogrammable military mission capabilities.
