Aether Aerospace has named defense and aerospace executive David Radcliffe chief operating officer to accelerate its growth as a premier defense technology platform.
In a press release sent to GovCon Wire Tuesday, the company said Radcliffe will oversee operational execution across programs supporting the Department of War, NASA and commercial partners.
What Experience Does David Radcliffe Bring?
Radcliffe brings more than three decades of leadership experience in defense operations; airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; mission systems; and national security programs.
Before joining Aether, he held senior leadership roles at Leidos. He was most recently the company’s vice president and division manager for airborne missions operations and was previously appointed as senior vice president and director of business development and strategy. His background also includes executive positions at SAIC, supporting intelligence, command-and-control, geospatial and defense modernization efforts.
Throughout his career, Radcliffe has managed large defense portfolios, led operational integration efforts and supported mission systems development for defense and intelligence agencies.
“He brings deep operational and industry experience, along with a proven track record of scaling and integrating complex businesses in support of national security missions,” said Ian Northrop, CEO of Aether Aerospace. “David’s leadership will help strengthen operational execution, accelerate integration across our businesses, and ensure we remain tightly aligned to the evolving needs of the Warfighter and our customers.”
Speaking about his new role, Radcliffe said he will join Aether Aerospace “at such a pivotal moment in the company’s evolution.”
“Aether has assembled an impressive team, strong technical capabilities, and a clear mission focus that positions the company for significant growth,” he noted. “I look forward to helping strengthen operational execution, accelerate integration efforts, and expand delivery of innovative solutions that support the Warfighter and our national security customers.”
How Does Aether Transform Into a Defense Platform?
Aether Aerospace was formed in 2025 as a defense technology platform backed by Falfurrias Management Partners through the merger of CTSi, EXPANSIA, JHNA and TSA.
The company provides digital engineering, modeling and simulation, open-architecture systems, advanced prototyping, and aviation modernization technologies that support military and aerospace missions.
Aether operates from several defense hubs nationwide and maintains a 100,000-square-foot prototyping and fabrication facility in Patuxent River, Maryland, supporting rapid testing and operational transition efforts.
