Taylor, a U.S. Navy veteran, currently serves as director of nuclear test engineering at NNS. He has spent nearly three decades with the company division, advancing through positions involving work control, submarine ship safety and sea trial coordination.
Taylor will succeed Dave Bolcar, vice president of engineering and design, and Brian Fields, vice president and chief technology officer, following their retirements. The CTO role will be embedded within the engineering and design team to better focus on waterfront support and technology.
NNS President Kari Wilkinson said Taylor’s waterfront operations experience will support plans to incorporate artificial intelligence to capture efficiencies in business operations over the coming year.

Bolcar joined NNS in 1988 as an engineer in the Los Angeles-class submarine design division and later led engineering across submarine and aircraft carrier programs. Fields began in 1990 in the same program and went on to hold several leadership positions, including spearheading the company’s transition to digital shipbuilding.
