Trident II Contract Details

The company secured a $647 million modification to a previously announced letter contract from the Navy, the Department of Defense said Monday. The award includes options that, if exercised, could raise its ceiling value to $745 million.

The production and support contract is specifically for the D5 version of Trident II. Work will be performed across several U.S. locations, including Magna, Utah; Denver, Colorado; Cape Canaveral and Titusville, Florida; Kings Bay, Georgia; and Bangor, Washington, through Sept. 30, 2030.

The award builds on Lockheed’s long-standing role as prime contractor for the Trident II system. In August, the company secured a $111 million Navy contract to continue production of the missile and provide support. In February, Lockheed won a $383 million contract for the design of the integrated, modernized missile to ensure that the D5 fleet remains mission-ready through its expected service life.

The Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs serves as the contracting activity.
