BWX Technologies announced Thursday the appointment of Suzanne Maddux to the newly established senior vice president of operations role.

The company said the move is designed to support its expansion across national security and commercial nuclear power.

What Will Maddux Do In Her New Role?

Maddux will report to President and CEO Rex Geveden and take on responsibility for environmental health and safety, supply chain, security and operational excellence. She will also oversee manufacturing operations, engineering and quality across the company.

“Suzanne brings deep operational expertise and a proven ability to unify complex organizations,” Geveden remarked. “As we execute on our robust backlog, sharpen our operational alignment and scale for future growth, Suzanne’s leadership will be central to helping ensure we are structured for long-term success.”

What Experience Does Maddux Bring to the Role?

Maddux arrives at BWXT after serving as vice president of global supply chain at Mercury Systems. Before that, she spent 18 years at RTX, where she held senior positions including manufacturing engineer, director of supply chain operations and senior director of operations and site executive.

Earlier in her career, Maddux worked at Cascade Engineering as a manufacturing engineer and at medical equipment manufacturer Danaher as a quality manager.

What Other Executive Changes Has BWXT Recently Made?

Three months before Maddux was appointed, BWXT announced that it had selected Keith Szewczyk as president of enrichment operations. Szewczyk has more than 20 years of experience under his belt, most recently as senior director of global crystals and vice president of the U.S. crystal division at KYOCERA AVX.

In February, BWXT promoted Kurt Bender, its vice president of IT applications, quality and continuous improvement, to senior vice president and chief digital officer. Bender succeeded Omar Meguid and was designated to support digital modernization in the company’s operations in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.
