The Department of Defense said Friday the company will continue production of the Trident II D5 missile, with nearly 95 percent of the work in Magna, Utah, and the remaining 5 percent in Clearwater, Florida, Titusville, Florida, and other locations. The contract will run through September 30, 2029.
The Strategic Systems Programs in Washington, D.C., serving as the contracting activity, will obligate $110.6 million and $292,303 from the Navy’s fiscal 2025 and 2023 weapons procurement, respectively.
The sole-source award was posted on the Systems for Award Management website, resulting in one proposal submitted.
Previous Contract Modifications
In February, the Navy awarded Lockheed Martin a $383 million contract modification to design a modernized Trident II D5 Life Extension 2 missile, intended for Columbia-class ballistic missile submarines.
This agreement builds on the $2.1 billion contract modification from September 2024 for the production and deployment of systems support for the Trident II D5 missile and Warhead 93/Mark7.
