The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory has awarded Rise8 a $399 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract modification to continue providing software development tools and services under the AFWERX Autonomy Prime program, which aims to accelerate the development and implementation of autonomy capabilities to address national security technological gaps.
With the modification, the total contract value rose to $499 million from the previous $100 million, the Department of Defense said. Work will be performed in Tampa, Florida, with completion expected by June 4, 2030. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is the contracting activity.
Rise8’s Previous Contract Award
Rise8 previously secured modifications, including one in December 2023 worth $95.1 million. Two other companies, namely Darkhive and Second Front Systems, received contracts under the AFWERX program. Darkhive focuses on the delivery of small unmanned aerial systems, software development and integration, while Second Front Systems provides its Game Warden platform and embedded services.
