Artificial intelligence startup xAI has unveiled a suite of frontier AI products, dubbed Grok For Government, designed to support the critical missions of the U.S. government.
Under the Grok For Government umbrella, the company said Monday it will bring frontier AI models like Grok 4 and commercial offerings such as Deep Search and Tool Use to national security, federal, state and local government customers to accelerate service delivery and address science and technology challenges.
Bringing xAI Capabilities to Government Customers
The Elon Musk-backed company noted that it will make custom models for national security and critical science applications available to specific government customers.
It will also provide the government with forward-deployed engineering and implementation support; custom AI-powered applications to advance use cases in national security, healthcare and fundamental science, among others; and models in classified and other restricted environments.
Contract With CDAO
The launch of Grok for Government coincides with the award of a Department of Defense contract to xAI.
The DOD Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office awarded xAI and three other frontier AI companies contracts, each with a $200 million ceiling, to develop agentic AI workflows for various mission areas.
CDAO said the partnerships will expand the department’s use of frontier AI capabilities and improve the ability of companies to address critical national security needs.
