The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday RTX will be the principal contractor for the proposed sale.
Proposed FMS Details
The proposed deal covers the procurement of 1,000 units of AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM and 50 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM guidance sections. Saudi Arabia also requested non-MDE items, including AMRAAM control section spares, missile containers and support equipment spare parts; consumables, accessories and repair and return support; weapon system support; classified and unclassified software delivery and support; classified and unclassified publications and technical documentation; studies and surveys, government and contractor engineering, technical and logistics support services, and other related logistics and program support elements.
The FMS request is intended to enhance the security of Saudi Arabia and political stability and economic progress in the Gulf Region in line with the United States’ foreign policy goals and national security initiatives.
The DSCA notified Congress of this potential sale Friday.
