Alice Fakir Named IBM Senior Partner, VP for Federal Cyber

IBM has appointed Alice Fakir, a cybersecurity industry leader, as senior partner and vice president of federal cybersecurity services.

Fakir announced her new position at the technology company in a LinkedIn post published Thursday.

“This new role reflects IBM’s commitment to our nation’s cybersecurity mission and the bleeding edge investments we’re making to drive use of agentic AI to advance defense postures and accelerate efficiencies in cyber operations,” the senior partner said in her post.

In this capacity, she will oversee the delivery of cybersecurity platforms and services to defense, intelligence and civilian agency customers to help them protect critical systems and assets from cyberthreats.

Alice Fakir’s Career Highlights

Fakir brings to the role over two decades of experience in cybersecurity program management, risk and compliance, policy and engineering, security operations and cloud security across multiple domains and industries.

She most recently served as a partner and head of IBM’s federal sector for cybersecurity services.

Before joining IBM in 2022, the George Mason University graduate was a vice president and cybersecurity government practice lead at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Fakir held executive director roles responsible for cybersecurity programs at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Morgan Stanley and served as a senior consultant at PEC Solutions.
