In this capacity, the newly appointed COO will oversee strategic planning, financial and operational management and implementation of VHA priorities and serve as the principal adviser to the undersecretary for health and other key VA officials on all matters related to VHA field operations.
Since joining VA in 2016, Braverman has held various roles, including director of the VA Desert Pacific Healthcare Network, medical center director for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and head of the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, according to his profile on the professional networking site.
He spent nearly three decades within the U.S. Army, where he served as a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician for the Army Medical Corps, director of program analysis and evaluation within the Office of the Surgeon General and commander of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
