In a LinkedIn post published Monday, McKenna said she is excited to work with the leadership team at the Washington, D.C.-based strategic advisory firm to drive innovation and address national security challenges.
“Together, we’ll be tackling the most pressing National Security issues with creativity and forward-thinking strategies that will shape the future of national security and policy,” she added.
McKenna brings over 20 years of experience in national security, strategic government investments and emerging technologies to the role. She has played a key role in advancing defense modernization initiatives and innovation strategies in support of the joint warfighter.
The U.S. Air Force veteran served as a military fellow at Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, where she helped promote the development of tech platforms for national security and strengthen partnerships between companies and the defense ecosystem.
Her military career included time as head of the Air Force’s strategic investment team, commander of the 25 Operations Support Squadron and chief innovation officer at Creech Air Force Base.
