John Bell was elevated to the role of chief technology officer at HII‘s (NYSE: HII) mission technologies division, where he most recently served as technical director.
The executive announced his promotion via a LinkedIn post published Saturday.
According to the company website, the new HII Mission Technologies CTO is responsible for technical excellence and innovation in growth, product and services delivery, as well as internal research and development.
The executive was with Alion for more than 15 years, holding roles such as engineering program manager and gaining expertise in modeling and simulation for training, test and evaluation of advanced weapons systems.
Bell’s career includes time serving as HII’s technical lead for the Navy Continuous Training Environment and as a software developer and systems administrator supporting NASA real-time satellite data collection and monitoring systems.
