Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) has appointed senior finance executive Vincent O’Neill as chief financial officer and business development leader Timothy Last as executive vice president of sales and marketing, effective Jan. 1.
The McLean, Virginia-based company said Wednesday O’Neill will succeed the retiring Thomas Fitzpatrick, who will continue to serve on Iridium’s board once he steps down as CFO.
Last will replace Bryan Hartin, who will retire by the end of 2024 after serving as head of Iridium’s sales and marketing for 12 years.
Iridium CEO Matt Desch said he expects a seamless leadership transition with the addition of O’Neill and Last to the executive team.
“Both Vince and Tim have extensive experience working with Iridium’s partners, employees and investors and will continue the success of their predecessors,” added Desch, a 2024 Wash100 awardee.
Vincent O’Neill
The incoming CFO is senior VP of finance responsible for Iridium’s strategic and operational financial planning and execution and treasury. O’Neill, a Chartered Management Accountant, joined the satellite communications company as VP of financial planning and analysis in 2014.
His industry career included senior finance positions at Mobilitie, Nextel Sprint and Celnet.
Timothy Last
The 12-year Iridium veteran currently serves as SVP of sales, product management and customer care and oversees the company’s global customer integration, product portfolio and support for commercial sales in the Americas.
Last previously served as VP and general manager for the Americas region.
Before Iridium, he held business development positions at ORBCOMM and BT Group.
