Ben Bloom, founder and previous CEO of Atom Computing, will return to the chief executive role at the Berkeley, California-based quantum computing company.
The company said in a July 2 news release that he will again take the helm of Atom Computing after Rob Hays stepped down from the CEO position to pursue other opportunities.
In this capacity, Bloom will oversee technical innovation efforts and engineering teams focused on developing quantum computing technologies based on neutral atoms.
Prior to founding Atom Computing in 2018, he was a senior quantum engineer at Rigetti Quantum Computing, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He also served as a PTD module and yield integration engineer at Intel (Nasdaq: INTC).
Bloom holds multiple U.S. patents and has co-authored several scientific publications.
