Pentagon 5G CFT Director Juan Ramirez to Keynote POC’s 2024 5G Forum

5G is becoming increasingly critical to defense missions at home and abroad, and the technology is evolving more rapidly than ever before. The Potomac Officers Club’s 2024 5G Forum on May 22 takes a deep dive into the U.S. government’s top 5G priorities, opportunities, challenges and initiatives as advancements in this vital technology area continue to unfold.

Juan Ramirez, director of the 5G cross functional team within the Department of Defense’s Office of the Chief Information Officer, will open the forum with a keynote address. In his role, Ramirez provides technical and policy expertise, programmatic oversight and guidance to help synchronize and integrate 5G into defense-wide programs in alignment with the Pentagon’s digital modernization strategy.

Following Ramirez’s keynote will be three expert panel discussions: Operationalizing 5G for DOD Missions; Addressing DOD Spectrum Needs in the Age of Programmable Spectrum; and 5G OCONUS Use Cases and Spectrum Opportunities.

Lt. Col. Benjamin Pimentel, technical lead for Expeditionary & Tactical Programs FutureG within the DOD, closes out the half-day event with a keynote speech.
