Marine Hydraulics International Books $147M Navy Ship Repair, Modernization Contract

Marine Hydraulics International has secured a potential $147.2 million contract to help the U.S. Navy maintain, repair and modernize a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship.

The contractor will help execute the fiscal 2024 selected restricted availability activities on the USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), the Department of Defense said Thursday.

MHI will provide labor, supervision, equipment, facilities, production, testing and quality assurance services for the Chief of Naval Operations’ maintenance effort.

The sole-source contract has a base value of $91.6 million.

Work will occur in Norfolk, Virginia, with a completion date of August 2025.

Naval Sea Systems Command will fund the firm-fixed-price contract using the Navy’s fiscal 2023 and 2024 operations and maintenance and other procurement budget.

Norfolk, Virginia-headquartered MHI offers ship repair and conversion services to the Navy, Military Sealift Command and Maritime Administration.
