The State Department has approved NATO’s request to purchase contractor logistics support services to help alliance members maintain and sustain their C-17 military transport aircraft fleet under a potential $150 million foreign military sale agreement.
Boeing (NYSE: BA) will serve as the principal contractor on the proposed FMS deal that covers contractor logistics support for NATO’s C-17 Strategic Airlift Capability initiative, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said.
NATO’s Support and Procurement Agency also requested related engineering, technical, logistics and program support services.
DSCA noted that the transaction will enable the alliance to meet current and future threats by strengthening its strategic airlift capability.
The deal will not require deploying government or contractor representatives to NATO.
