The Department of Defense has released a request for proposals as part of the on-ramping process for Pools 1 and 2 of a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for mission-critical research and development support services.
DOD intends to conduct a full-and-open competition with plans to award about three IDIQ contracts under Pool 1 of the Information Analysis Center Multiple-Award Contract, according to a solicitation notice published Tuesday.
For the second pool, the Pentagon plans to launch a partial small business set-aside competition and award about two contracts under Pool 2 of IAC MAC.
The IAC program management office has established 22 scientific and technical focus areas that are critical to defense needs for Pools 1 and 2. Each of these focus areas is mapped to one of three primary domain areas: defense systems; cybersecurity and information systems; and homeland defense and security.
Those focus areas include weapons systems, autonomous systems, advanced materials, software and data analysis, modeling and simulation, knowledge management and information sharing, biometrics, critical infrastructure protection.
Responses to the RFP are due Oct. 20.
The solicitation came weeks after DOD announced its intent to conduct an on-ramp to the existing IAC MAC vehicle’s Pools 1 and 2. In June, the department moved to increase by $20 billion the ceiling amount of the contract, bringing the program’s cumulative value to $48 billion.
