Peraton has secured a potential five-year, $330.3 million contract from NASA to take over the responsibility of supporting suborbital flight operations at Wallops Flight Facility.
Under the Sounding Rocket Operations IV contract, Peraton will perform suborbital payload design, fabrication and integration activities and conduct flight qualification testing, the space agency said Friday.
Launch vehicles and components, and related services will also be provided by the contractor during the one-year base period starting Oct. 1. NSROC IV work could extend until Sept. 30, 2028, if the four option periods were exercised.
Orbital ATK, now Northrop Grumman‘s (NYSE: NOC) innovation systems business, was the predecessor contractor for NASA’s Sounding Rocket Program support work. Its NSROC III award was announced in April 2016.
Performance locations are still at Wallops and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, and several remote and mobile launch sites.
