Shea Ferring was elevated to the role of chief technology officer at Firefly Aerospace, where he recently served as senior vice president of engineering responsible for leading its four key launch vehicle product activities.
In a LinkedIn post Wednesday, the AE Industrial Partners portfolio company highlighted Ferring’s contribution to the Firefly leadership team in the previous five years and his support to space-focused business growth efforts.
Ferring has more than three decades of experience in satellite and launch vehicle design, integration, test and flight. His career includes time with the former Vencore company as commercial space chief engineer, Orbital Sciences as propulsion engineering manager and Motorola as systems engineer.
He is the founder of engineering services company M2S2-Technologies and had served as its chief operating officer until June, according to the executive’s profile.
