BAE Systems has received a $463.2 million contract from the U.S. Army to maintain 155 mm lightweight towed howitzers for domestic and foreign military customers.
The firm-fixed-price award covers the provision of catalog parts and manpower services to support the life cycle sustainment of the U.S. and Australian M777A2 howitzer fleet and Canada’s M777C1 artillery guns, according to a notice posted on SAM.gov.
M777 weighs less than 10,000 pounds and offers precision strike fire capability for maneuver forces. The system is suitable for land, sea and air missions and capable of hitting targets at an extended distance.
Army Contracting Command awarded the contract on behalf of the Project Manager Towed Artillery Systems.
