Germany is seeking to acquire 60 CH-47F Chinooks, 140 T55-GA-714A engines, 72 common missile warning systems and 284 secure radios under the proposed foreign military sale deal, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.
The request also includes laser and radar warning systems, digital advanced flight control systems, identification friend or foe transponders, tactical air navigation systems and night vision devices.
DSCA noted the German government intends to use the helicopters in homeland defense and regional deterrence operations.
The proposal calls for the temporary deployment of contractor representatives to the European country to provide onsite aircraft technical, maintenance, training and logistics support.
