Dennis Berlien, a 25-year engineering and consulting industry veteran, has been appointed president of the newly launched sustainable and resilient solutions business segment at Michael Baker International.
He will oversee a portfolio of technology and service offerings in various areas such as structural engineering, cybersecurity and telecommunications, Michael Baker said Thursday.
Berlien has served as CEO of the company’s Akela Engineering subsidiary, a full-service MEP engineering and consulting firm focused on the construction industry in Southern California, since October 2022.
He previously held leadership roles during his 11-year career at building design consulting firm Glumac, which became part of Tetra Tech (Nasdaq: TTEK) in 2017.
His industry career also included positions at Adobe Consulting Engineers, AMEC, Bechtel, Vanderweil Engineers and Wright Engineers.
