Jay Kovacs, Patience Samson, Port Dubon Join Axient’s Corporate Leadership Suite

Axient CEO Randy Cash has promoted company executives Jay Kovacs, Patience Samson and Port Dubon to C-level positions.

Kovacs, most recently senior vice president of growth strategies, will now serve as chief innovation officer and oversee Axient’s innovation and growth strategy and technical capability expansion efforts in data analytics and digital engineering, among other areas, the company said Thursday.

He previously led technical solutioning and strategy development initiatives and worked with Axient Chief Growth Officer Dan Deans. His 35-year industry career included time holding technical leadership positions at KBR (NYSE: KBR), Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and General Electric (NYSE: GE).

Samson, formerly VP of corporate development, has been promoted to chief corporate affairs officer at Axient with oversight of government relations and public affairs, corporate communications, community relations, merger and acquisition integration, change managment and stakeholder engagement.

She brings to the role over two decades of experience in the defense, intelligence and civilian markets in the areas of program management, business development, marketing and corporate operations.

Dubon, most recently VP of strategy and analysis at Axient, will serve as chief strategy officer and help execute corporate initiatives and will bring to the position nearly four decades of experience in strategic planning, management, operations, training, quality improvement and decision-making.

Dubon, who spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, previously provided programmatic and technical support for Department of Defense programs, including space and missile systems development.

Huntsville, Alabama-based Axient has over 2,000 employees focused on delivering technology platforms and services to defense and civilian agencies and commercial clients, including systems engineering and integration, mission assurance and cyber systems development.
