Jon Piatt, former president of the reconnaissance mission systems unit at L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX), has been appointed executive vice president of Sierra Nevada Corp.‘s ISR, aviation and security business area.
The three-decade industry veteran will oversee a portfolio of aircraft modification programs and projects supporting the Department of Defense, SNC said Tuesday.
Piatt most recently served as CEO and a board member at Athule Aero Technologies, a developer of propeller systems designed for the aviation sector, and is currently serving as chairman at Eviation Aircraft.
In his prior role at L3Harris, he oversaw profit and loss, strategy development and organizational functions within the defense contractor’s RMS business.
He previously held business development roles at DRS Technologies and Texas Instruments.
