Constellis subsidiary Centerra has won a potential 10-year, $1 billion contract from the Department of Energy to manage safeguards and security measures at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina.
DOE said Thursday the incumbent contractor will work to secure SRS programs, information, personnel, facilities and other assets under the cost-plus-award-fee contract, which consists of a five-year base period and a pair of option periods that may extend the work for an additional five years.
The department’s environmental management office received three proposals and used the best value evaluation method to determine the winner.
A 60-day transition period is included in the terms of the contract.
Herndon, Virginia-based Constellis bought Centerra in 2017 from private equity firm Alvarez & Marsal Capital as part of a strategy to grow business relations with DOE and other government customers.
