NASA has started soliciting information on potential vendors that could meet the requirements of the third iteration of the Safety and Mission Assurance Engineering Contract.
The agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston expects SMAEC III to be a single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to support the development of safety mission assurance products associated with human spaceflight programs and performance of analyses in support of research and development initiatives and ground, spaceflight and institutional activities, according to a sources sought notice published Wednesday.
SMAEC III is anticipated to help facilitate the production of flight assessment documentation to support flight readiness reviews.
JSC expects the follow-on contract to provide contract management and administration; spaceflight program, project and R&D support; institutional support; and technical services.
Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) is the incumbent on the SMAEC II contract, which is valued at approximately $291 million and is set to expire on May 31, 2024.
Interested stakeholders should submit a capability statement and include in their submission information regarding potential organizational conflicts of interest that could emerge from the SMAEC III procurement effort.
Responses to the request for information are due Dec. 16.
