Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has secured a potential five-year, $440.6 million contract to provide design agent engineering services for the U.S. Navy’s multimission air defense radar system capable of operating within both S-band and X-band frequencies.
The firm-fixed-price contract covers engineering efforts and supplies for the dual-band radar installed aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and USS Zumwalt guided missile destroyer, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
The sole-source contract has a $160.2 million base value and will reach its maximum value if the Navy exercises all options, which will extend the period of performance through September 2027.
Naval Sea Systems Command acts as the contracting activity for the procurement and will obligate $7.2 million at the time of award.
Contract work will occur in Massachusetts, California, Virginia and Rhode Island.
