Celso Puente, an information technology veteran with more than 25 years of experience in federal marketing communications, was named vice president of the marketing and communications department at CGI’s (NYSE: GIB) federal arm.
“Puente’s extensive federal expertise will help us bring stories of digital transformation, innovation and community engagement from CGI’s global customers and leverage them to the federal marketplace,” Stephanie Mango, president of CGI Federal and a 2022 Wash100 Award recipient, told GovCon Wire.
As the new department head, Puente is responsible for driving the marketing and communications efforts of CGI Federal to help the business expand in cyber, cloud, space and intelligent automation sectors. His appointment followed other company hires in the recent year aimed at further supporting strategic growth areas.
“CGI leads the IT industry as a systems integrator and strategic adviser to its federal clients; but it is also a leader in creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments for its members to thrive,” said Puente, highlighting his reasons for joining the company.
Puente most recently served as VP of marketing and strategic communications at PAE, which merged with Amentum. His career also includes time with Unisys (NYSE: UIS) and Booz Allen Hamilton(NYSE: BAH) building on the same practices.
