GovernmentCIO has received a $37 million contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to continue to support and improve an online memorial for veterans.
The Veterans Legacy Memorial is a public website that honors the sacrifice and service of more than 4.3 million veterans inurned and interred at VA national cemeteries and grant-funded state, territory and tribal veteran cemeteries, GovCIO said Wednesday.
The company will develop the next iteration of the online memorial under the VLM-Next Generation contract, which will run for four and a half years.
“We are honored to continue this important work of building an interactive platform that honors the lives and memories of America’s Veterans,” said GovCIO CEO Jim Brabston.
Since 2019, GovCIO has been supporting the VLM website, which provides researchers an opportunity to share educational and historical information about veterans and cemeteries.
