Oshkosh ’s (NYSE: OSK) defense arm has won a potential six-year, $942.9 million contract from the U.S. Army to build and deploy a medium caliber weapon system for the Stryker armored fighting vehicle.
Army Contracting Command received three offers for the cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract and expects work to conclude on June 2, 2027, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Work will also include engineering, integration and logistical support services.
Defense News reported the Oshkosh Defense team includes Pratt Miller , which partnered with Rafael to compete for the Stryker MCWS program. Pratt Miller was one of the five companies selected by the Army in May 2019 to submit designs to integrate the weapon system into Stryker vehicles.
In January, Oshkosh closed its acquisition of Pratt Miller for approximately $115 million.
The initial delivery order includes 91 Stryker vehicles worth about $130 million, according to Defense News. The publication cited an Army announcement saying that the service could equip up to six Stryker brigades with the new weapon system through the potential $942 million contract.
